Hi all, when it comes to selling ebook rights what are the pros and cons?
If you do sell exclusive rights to your material are you still allowed to sell the information yourself or are all rights with the new holder?
By selling the rights to your ebooks doesn't this take away the uniquesness of your ebook since it's being promoted by others?

If you sell me exclusive rights that means that I can only sell your stuff.
By selling regular resale rights, you will create a product which will end up in an ebook package somewhere. Eventually, people will be giving it away for nothing. This is good to do with one or two ebooks or software programs because it brings lots of traffic.
Armand Morin did this with his product Pop-Up Generator. Thousands of people are either selling it or including it in a package. This is bringing in thousands of visitors to his sites.
Bill Myers did the same thing with Vend-O-Matic and a few other titles.
Scores of others have done the same thing.
It would not be suggested to do this to all the titles that you produce because if every man and his dog is selling and giving your ebook away, who is there left to buy? Just do it with some selected titles.
I get about 800 downloads a week from just one of my free ebook titles. This is resulting in lots of free traffic.
Other titles should be sold without resale rights. This way you will always hold he ace up your sleeve. If the title turns out to be a winner, thousands of affiliates could be selling it for you.
