Authors looking for a different way to market eBooks should take a serious look at inexpensive CD distribution.
In the past, many digital producers used eBay as a their primary marketing venue and they sold digital downloads directly to eBay customers. Now, eBay bans this practice and prefers digital sellers use eBay's classified ad category.
To make matters worse, eBay classified ads are area/country specific (not worldwide) and the ads must direct customers to an off-site sales page. This removes the "Buy it Now" sales option and increases the complexity of the sales procedure -- often making digital products unprofitable for authors.
One-way to sell you product successfully on eBay is to ship your product on a physical CD. This marketing strategy gives you the advantage of showing your product worldwide as a regular auction item. The good news is that eBuyers, both historically and culturally, expect to wait for physical delivery after they buy a product.
Unfortunately, CDs are impractical for "Buy it Now" sales without expensive anti-copy or replication software. (Unless you use the HYPrLock Security System).
With HYPrLock, each CD has its own unique activation serial number. This lets you sell your product through eBay, using 3rd party distributors or even at your local shopping mall. Then, after receiving your product, customers can remotely access and activate a valid eBook password without further contact.
