pda ebooks: Which compiler is the best?

 »Palm, Handspring, Smartphone

bookmanNew Hello,

I am compiler shopping, and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.  I’m looking for a compiler that creates ebooks for pdas, i.e. Palm, Smartphone, Handspring, etc.

Also, I want something that guards against piracy.

Which compiler would be the best?

Thank You.

Alex

P.S. What is the difference between a compiler and
an editor?

Ron Wagner Hi Alex,

There are plenty of compilers on the market...some good, others just O K !

I was able to buy Adobe...for  PDF and got it for less than $60.00 USD.

My daughter went back to school full time and she bought it for me from journeyed.com.:wink

If you know anyone in school...you can use their school schedule to verify school attendance.

Adobe is the best...barr-nun.

If you have trouble using it...just email me...I might be able to help

Attention all!!!  I need to know how to kock certain parts of the PDF ebook that can be unlocked by password.

Can someone help me.

I am offering the First chapter of me ebook free and upon purchase of the full book...I will email the password to customer

Storyman Ron,

Adobe makes two versions of their PDF program: standard and professional. It has been awhile, but I think the pro version has additional secuirty.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of confusion around PDF and ebooks when it comes to security. In short--it isn't going to happen without a lot of money. Adobe makes a program specifically for providing PDF ebooks over the Internet. The program cost a few thousand. There are vendors who will put your ebook up for a pricey fee.

If you're thinking that you can lock the PDF and sell the registeration code to unlock the book you might first want to Google for "unlock PDF". There are several very inexpensive programs that will do just that.

If you were thinking of selling on Amazon, then you might want to do some investigation. I've heard that they will set up PDF files for secure download. They use the more advanced program so the PDF file is available to both computers and PDAs while being secure.
