I am trying to compile an ebook (I have done so successfully in the past without any problems). My pictures don't appear, a dhtml menu does not appear, and most links get me file not found errors. The ebook takes a long time to compile, too.
I compiled an ebook from my files (yes, they are all in the same directory) the other day and it worked fine. Now, after adding a few pages to the ebook (same file types as before), the ebook is VERY slow to compile, and things aren't appearing as they should. I've been using active ebook for 6 years, and I know all the basic fixes, but this one has me very confused.

Oh yes ...
The words to describe the problem are so common that searching for previous posts on the subject doesn't work. Many, many posts use the words "pictures' and 'menu', so searching for help isn't really working for me.

Sorry I missed this earlier.
We watch this board, but not continually. We respond to email pretty much every day. Email us if you need an immediate response.
I think probably you might need to scan your system for viruses, then uninstall and reinstall the compiler. Self parse failed suggests the compiler installation has been corrupted in some way.
If ebooks and probably IE as well are slow, this would suggest you might have spyware pr virus or trojan on your system.
As for the missing images, email 1 HTML file showing the missing image (and in body remind me that you're brainsci from the message board) and I'll see if its a problem in your HTML coding, or a problem elsewhere.

Actually, I ws able to solve the problem. I'm not sure what I did to solve it, but it wasn't bad code for the pictures. It may have been that a background task was frozen, and prevented the ebok from compiling. Maybe. Thanks for responding, though. It's nice to know you are there for these issues.
