I just downloaded and installed Internet Explorer 8.
Then I tested to confirm that Activ E-Book and HYPrLock still worked properly and I'm happy to report that everything worked great. (I'm using Windows XP Pro but I expect the same results with Vista).
BTW: Adobe recently launched a new and improved DRM security system for PDF documents called "ADEPT". The base purchase price for the system is $6500.00 and already there are cra*cks to defeat it on the web. Many of the obvious links for the cra*ck have been closed down but you can bet they're available on P2P networks.
Activ E-Book and HYPrLock, on the other hand, continue to provide the best PDF security system available (without constant online monitoring or annoying customer logins). Effective PDF security doesn't need to be unbelievably expensive.
