Does anyone know why I should get an 'Internet Explorer Script Error' when opening a page that contains an image map? The error code is as follows Line: 18 Char: 4 Error: Expected ';' Code: 0
This page doesn't generate any error in IE or Firefox, only in the compiled eBook. Any ideas?

Hi Michaelbr,
Are you using javascript? If so be sure that you have a missing semi-colon at the end of line 18--or there about.
Most likely the reason that you are not getting errors in IE or FF is that the debug javascript option has not been ticked.

Hi Storyman, Thanks for the reply. No, the page in question does not have any Java Script on it, it just contains one line of text and then the Image Map.
Any other ideas?

Hi Michaelbr,
Just because IE & FF don't generate errors doesn't mean that there aren't any. The default setting is to have error reporting turned off.
Without knowing what code is on the page it's difficult to say what the source of the error could be. My previous reply was just a stab in the dark--which is wrong it turns out. Isn't some sort of code being used to activate links? Is it Java, Perl, ???
Could you provide more detail on how you created this image map?

Hi Storyman, I created the image map with a image map program called geoHTML. You are right about error reporting being turned off in IE, but even when I turn it on, IE doesn't report any errors with this page. There is no code to run with an error map, here is a segment of the code -
The code you're having problems with is javascript1.1--at least that is the version used on one of their demo pages. Your code is missing ';' at the end of one of the lines.

Hi Storyman, I figured it out! I had added an onmouseover routine from the program and that is what was causing the error, once I deleted that, as it wasn't really required, problem solved. Thanks for all of you help!
