Have searched the various help places but... no find. So can someone copy a working example of the HTML for a clickable mailto: email link that will work inside an Activ Compiler ebook, please?
Many thanks to whoever rescues me.

Gary -
Try this one; it carries a default subject line, and a cc: address:
naturally, you'll want to replace my email address with your own, unless they're sending money!
good luck!

Thanks Alaska!
Your answer alerts me to my poorly-worded question. What I really need is to know the code for making an email link REBRANDABLE.
I've toyed with [={ ....... }] but with no luck. You can help?

so, you've replaced your email address with something like:
[={emailname}]
.. and, you've enabled the preprocessor for that HTML file,
..have you created an activ variable called emailname (or whatever) containing the default value, e.g. 'name@website.com' ?
?

Yes, I had both of them. But I didnt know I had to enter default values. Done now. And it works. Whether this was the single thing that fixed it, I dont know.
Anyhow here's the code that I use:
<A href="mailto:[={YOUREMAIL}]">Click here to email [={YOURNAME}]</A>
Thanks for taking the time to write when I was lost. Gary
