I have the option under the Build tab to assume the position of someone with or without a password. But, I do not ever get a chance to enter a password, to experience what a reader experiences to enter a password. If I tell the compiler that I do not have a password, it just says I need one. It doesn't give me the option to enter one. I would like to see so that I can direct the reader beforehand. Is there a pop-up or ?????

Go to Edit Security, check the password option, add at least one password, then go to Files tab, and password protect one or more of your files

Go to Build, and there is an option called My Password status, set it to the option for the password not yet entered.
Next time you run the book, you should be able to enter the password, by clicking the Key button, using the equivalent menu, or pressing Ctrl+K
